India Chariot Festival







The 36th annual India Chariot Festival part of the weekend long India Festival. It's a weekend of spiritual awakening, blissful singing, dancing, Vedic knowledge, mantra meditation, yoga and more. The 3,000 year old tradition of Ratha-Yatra had hundreds participating in the parade down Yonge Street with three colourful chariots amidst rhythmic beats of drums, cymbals, chanting and dancing. The chariots were pulled by the participants down Yonge St. from Bloor all the way down to the Lakeshore. A Macaw named 'Hari Bol' whose name translates to 'Jai Lord Krishna' also took part in the parade.
