A prayer for Mao

EASTYORK/RIVERDALE - A monk performs a special ritual at Fu Yao Supermarket with Hou Chang Mao's children. Mao, 47, was stocking oranges at Fu Yao Supermarket on Gerrard Street East last Thursday evening when he was struck in the torso during an alleged gun battle between two or more men who fled the scene. During the ceremony, a piece of Mao’s clothing was brought to the scene of his passing to symbolize the reuniting of his body and soul.
